Welcome to the SCHUBERT AWARD
International Music Competition
The Schubert Award International Music Competition is an online platform for musicians from around the world, created to celebrate expressive depth, artistic sincerity, and musical imagination — values closely associated with the legacy of Franz Schubert. Every Absolute Winner receives a cash award of €200.
“There is nothing like music to relieve the soul and uplift it.”
Franz Schubert
About the Competition
The Schubert Award IMC welcomes soloists, vocalists, instrumentalists, composers, conductors, and chamber ensembles of all ages and nationalities. The competition is held entirely online, allowing participants to present their artistry without travel costs or logistical barriers.
Participants submit a video recording and are evaluated by an international jury. The competition is open to all classical music repertoire. There is no requirement to perform works by Schubert, although participants are welcome to do so.
The aim of the competition is to support musical development, encourage artistic individuality, and provide international recognition for dedicated musicians.
Risk-Free Competition Formula
The Schubert Award follows a two-stage format. The Preliminary Round is free of charge. After the first evaluation, selected participants are invited to the Final Round. Only invited finalists decide whether they wish to continue and pay the Final Round administrative fee of €99. Every participant who enters the Final Round receives official recognition as a laureate. The competition is entirely online and only video submissions are evaluated — the same programme is used in both rounds, so beyond registration and payment nothing else is required.
