How to Apply
A simple, online process designed for musicians anywhere in the world.

Prepare your recording
Choose your repertoire and record a clear video performance. Any classical work is accepted. Composers may submit an audio recording instead — a performance or software-generated sound — ideally with a link to the score.

Upload the video
Upload to YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive or any platform that allows the jury to access the link.

Fill in the application form
Complete the online application on schubertaward.com and submit the link to your recording.

Wait for preliminary results
Results of the Preliminary Round are sent by email on the published date.

Confirm participation in the Final Round, if invited
Invited finalists complete Final Round registration and pay the €99 administrative fee. The same programme is used in the Final Round — nothing else needs to be sent and no contact is required.
Important clarifications
- ◆The Preliminary Round is free.
- ◆The recording does not need to be professionally produced.
- ◆One continuous take is recommended but not always required.
- ◆The video must allow the jury to evaluate the performance clearly.
- ◆The participant is responsible for making sure the link works.
